Virgin Media has been a little slow out of the blocks on the January sales, but this is quite an offer if you’re seeking a new broadband provider. From now until Wednesday 8 January at 23:59, new customers signing up to the three most expensive TV, broadband and phone bundles will be entitled to a free 43in 4K LG television set . If you’ve decided you don’t want another TV, then you can exchange that for £150 bill credit – but given Virgin says the TV has an RRP of £329, it’d probably be a mistake. Although it’s a nice offer, it’s worth noting that these bundles aren’t exactly low-cost. The cheapest way to get the TV is to buy the ‘bigger bundle + movies’ which comes with over 250 TV channels, 100mbps broadband and a dedicated phone line. It costs £62 per month, for a total of £744 over the course of a 12-month contract. Next up is the ‘bigger oomph bundle + movies’ which is basically the same, but doubles the broadband speed to 200mbps and throws in a 2GB data SIM card on the Virgin Mobile network. It’ll set you back £70 per month, for a total cost of £840 over the 12-month contract. Finally, there’s Virgin Media’s top-of-the-line, total-overkill package: the ‘ultimate oomph bundle’. That comes with over 270 channels including Sky Sports HD and Sky Cinema HD, cable broadband with an average speed of 516mbps, a phone line, and a SIM card with unlimited data, minutes and texts. It’s yours for £89 per month, or £1,068 over the course of a 12-month contract. Note that although all three of these are 12-month contracts, the price of each will increase after a year. The price jumps to £93 per month for the ‘bigger bundle + movies,’ £101 per month for the ‘bigger oomph bundle + movies’ and £139 per month for the ‘ultimate oomph’ package. But again, there’s nothing stopping you cancelling at that point and seeing what else is available in January 2021. Buy now from Virgin Media
